Who I am

My name is Reyone Chaudhary. I was born in Dang Ghorahi, a valley in midwestern Nepal, and I am in my final years of studying computer science at Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu.

I came to this field because I wanted to understand how things work — not just use them. Data and machine learning gave me a way to ask questions and actually get answers back, and that feeling has not worn off.

Background

I grew up in Dang Ghorahi, a valley town surrounded by green hills and wide fields. It is a calm place. Growing up there, I spent a lot of time outdoors — walking, watching the seasons change, and learning to notice the kind of small details that most people walk past.

I think that is why I gravitated toward data. It is a way of noticing carefully, and of taking what you noticed and turning it into something you can show someone else.

What I enjoy

I enjoy the slow part of the work — the part where you are not building anything yet, just sitting with a problem and trying to see its shape.

I read a lot. Not only technical books, but essays and philosophy. I think good engineering has a lot in common with good writing: both reward clarity, patience, and the willingness to cut things out.

I take photographs. Mostly of streets, mostly in the morning. It is a way of paying attention.

What I'm learning

I am currently going deeper into the foundations of deep learning — not just using frameworks, but understanding the math and the mechanics underneath them.

I am also learning to write more about what I study. I have found that teaching is the most honest test of understanding.

What I'm working on

I am working on a few computer vision projects that deal with real-world, uncontrolled environments — where the lighting changes, the angles shift, and the model has to cope.

I am also contributing to small open-source tools when I can. It is a quiet way to be part of something larger than my own work.
